Drinkly recruits two executives in growth drive

Edinburgh-based on demand drinks delivery business Drinkly has recruited two new executives as it steps up its growth plans.

The tech business has recruited a director of business operations and a brand partnerships manager, taking its executive team to five.

The tech business which started up in 2016 has been running its services in the capital since then and in Glasgow since December 2018 and is planning an imminent move to west London as the first of eight city launches planned this year.

Founded in November 2016, Drinkly is a technology platform that allows customers to shop for more than 650 products across beers, wines and spirits from local off-licence partners and have them delivered to homes, offices or friends in one hour.

In two years the business has created partnerships with Heineken and other independent craft brands, accrued over 3,000 regular customers in Edinburgh and expanded its services into Glasgow, accruing over 500 customers in the first three months

Glen Stocco who was appointed as director of business operations, has been an advisor for Scottish companies exploring international markets and an assessor for Scottish Edge.

He was previously president of a growing craft cider business in Canada, having earlier worked as director of development for a a property company and as an ambassador for a Canadian economic development agency.

He will focus on structuring the company for growth, overseeing legal and tech developments, as well as leading on strategy, financial planning and forecasting.

Jill Davidson joins as brand partnerships manager from Edinburgh Rugby where in three years, she helped enhance the sponsorship revenue by 60 per cent on the back of a commercial strategy she developed to improve acquisition and retention.

Prior to joining Edinburgh Rugby she was head of events at Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.
