Okra, also known as lady’s finger, is a nutrient-rich vegetable commonly used in Indian and global cuisines. While it’s well-known for its fiber content and digestive benefits, its water extract—okra water—has gained popularity as a natural remedy for weight loss. But how does it work? And what is the best way to consume it for maximum benefits?

A 100g serving of okra contains only about 33 calories, making it an ideal low-calorie addition to a weight-loss diet. The mucilaginous content in okra forms a gel-like consistency when mixed with water, slowing digestion and preventing unnecessary cravings. Okra contains antioxidants and polyphenols that help improve metabolism. A faster metabolism means the body burns calories more efficiently, aiding weight loss. How to prepare Okra water weight loss

To prepare okra water you need 4-5 fresh okra pods, 1 glass of water, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of honey.

Wash the okra pods thoroughly to remove any dirt or pesticides. Trim both ends of the okra and cut them into smaller pieces. Soak the chopped okra in a glass of water overnight (at least 8-10 hours). In the morning, stir the water and strain it to remove the okra pieces. Add lemon juice or honey for taste if desired. Drink it on an empty stomach for best results.
