'Drink it in!' - Arsenal fans go nuts as Pochettino is 'confirmed' as candidate to replace Emery

Reports that Mauricio Pochettino is a candidate to become the next Arsenal head coach has got supporters talking.

There's a managerial vacancy at the Emirates Stadium following the decision to part company with Unai Emery on Friday morning - less than 24 hours after the 2-1 home loss against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.

It was also confirmed that Freddie Ljungberg will take charge of first-team matters for the foreseeable future as the club seek to appoint a permanent replacement for the Spaniard.

But who is in the running to become next Arsenal head coach?

Well, the Athletic have reported that the Gunners view former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino as a credible option.

However, the report does claim that while he is among the list of candidates to replace Emery, it's unclear as to how he would view an approach given his close ties to the Lilywhites.

Pochettino has previously insisted that he would never work for Spurs' bitter north London rivals.

"I would never train Barcelona or Arsenal because I am tied to Tottenham. I grew up at Newell's and I would never train Rosario Central," he said.

"This is my decision. I would prefer to work on my farm in Argentina than to go and work in certain places."

With that said, some eagle-eyes Arsenal fans pointed out a line Pochettino's statement which was released via he LMA regarding his Spurs departure which suggests he could have a change of heart.
