Drink drivers banned from the roads after being caught in Nottinghamshire

A 34-year-old man pleaded guilty to drink-driving in a red Mini Cooper in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

John Cowan, of Welbeck Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, had 48 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35, on June 15.

At Mansfield Magistrates' Court, Cowan was fined £120, banned from driving for 14 months, ordered to pay £30 towards victim services and costs of £85.

One driver was fined £400 after he was over the drink drive limit in Ratcliffe Gate in Mansfield.

Ivan Goncear, 32, of Broxtowe Drive, Mansfield, pleaded guilty to having 73 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35, on June 17.

He was banned from driving for 20 months, ordered to pay £40 towards victim services and costs of £85.

A 60-year-old woman was drink-driving in a Mazda in Beechdale Road in Mansfield Woodhouse.

Janet Brooks, of Beechdale Road, pleaded guilty to having 42 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35, on June 17.

At court, she was fined £120, banned from driving for 12 months, ordered to pay costs of £85 and £30 towards victim services.

A man pleaded guilty to drink-driving in a Vauxhall Astra in Intake Road in Clipstone.

Stewart Vardy, 54, of Intake Road, pleaded guilty to having 137 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35, on June 22.

At court, he was given a community order, an alcohol treatment requirement for six months and a rehabilitation activity requirement for a maximum of six days.

He was fined £500, ordered to pay £85 towards victim services, costs of £85, and received a driving ban for three years.
