Drink driver drove into a wall after row with boyfriend

A drink driver mounted a pavement and drove into a wall, a court heard.

Chloe Cockayne was spotted by police driving a Vauxhall Vectra and losing control on July 11 last year.

A police officer turned his vehicle around and postioned it in front of her car to prevent it from moving, Nottingham Magistrates' Court was told on Monday (May 10).

She had been for a few drinks for the first time after the birth of her son.

She had a lift arranged to avoid driving home but had an argument with her boyfriend and decided to drive herself.

Cockayne, 28, of Lindale Close, Rotherham, was found to have 118 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, over the limit of 35.

She pleaded guilty to drink-driving in Gateford Road, Worksop, and was banned from the roads for 28 months.

She was fined £200, ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and court costs of £85.
