An alleged drink driver was caught with a pedestrian's corpse in his passenger seat after he stopped at a bar, reports say.
Paul Joseph Garcia then walked barefoot into South Austin Beer Garden, where workers refused to serve him and stopped him from fleeing.
Employees reportedly said he 'looked distraught' and decided to keep him at the bar until police arrived.
Officers found a trail of body parts and debris along a half-mile stretch of the road, it is said.
They say the accused failed to stop after hitting the pedestrian, who smashed through his windscreen and landed in the passenger seat.

Instead the 24-year-old allegedly continued driving for around half a mile, before clambering out of his Ford Focus and walking down the road in Austin, Texas, US.
He was then caught on camera climbing out of a ditch in front of the South Austin Beer Garden, before entering the venue.
David Pearce, co-owner of the beer garden, has described how his staff kept the accused occupied while waiting for the police.

He told Fox7: "He was definitely looking for a place to hide.
"Right away my door guy stopped him, he obviously looked distraught.
"We had no idea what had happened up the street and it's just, wow, we just stopped this kid from running away from the cops."
The victim was reportedly pushing a shopping trolley when they were hit by Garcia, suffering devastating head injuries.
It is said there were no brake marks on the road, suggesting the driver had not attempted to stop before or after the crash.
According to The Sun, a police arrest affidavit stated: "The impact with the vehicle pushed the cart into a cluster of mailboxes with enough force to bend a two-inch diameter, galvanized steel post that supported mailboxes."
Garcia was arrested on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter and accident involving injury, with his bail set at body">
