Drink driver caught on M62 near Leeds five times over limit

A driver pulled over by police on the M62 near Leeds was found to be five times over the legal alcohol limit.

West Yorkshire Roads Policing Unit tweeted about the drink driver, who was pulled over at 11.36am on Friday.

Officers stopped the driver and breathalysed him near Junction 30 for Rothwell Interchange.

They blew a reading of 176 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The drink drive limit is 35 micrograms alcohol per 100ml of breath.

"Next stop police custody!" wrote the officer in charge on Twitter.

Police have not revealed whether the motorist was behind the wheel of a car, a van or an HGV.
