Drew Brees takes shot at NFC title game no-call in Untuckit ad

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees rarely puts himself in the spotlight outside the playing field, but he was all aboard making a joke at the NFL’s expense in his latest ad appearance.

Brees appeared in a recent 30-second spot for Untuckit, an apparel company specializing in casual T-shirts for which he is an investor and spokesman.

In the ad, which you can watch below, he walks down a street and nods at a man wearing one of the company’s shirts, shrugging and commenting, “At least somebody made the right call.”

Brees is, of course, referencing the controversial no-call at the end of the 2018 NFC championship game, which helped keep the Saints from reaching Super Bowl LIII. On-field officials failed to flag a pass interference penalty that occurred late in regulation, leading to petitions and protests from angry fans, and an eventual rule change to expand instant replay.

Brees has largely kept his comments to himself around the affair, though he did publicly criticize NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for taking too long to acknowledge the league officials’ mistakes. This ad is likely the last we’ll hear from Brees on the situation.
