Drew Brees reacts to Saints’ road win over Seahawks

The New Orleans Saints pulled off an impressive victory on the road against the Seattle Seahawks, without starting quarterback Drew Brees calling the shots. In his was place was backup passer Teddy Bridgewater, who manages the game well and helped the offense pull its weight in what was — at times — a lopsided victory that saw the Saints dominate the Seahawks in all three phases of the game, scoring touchdowns on offense, defense, and special teams (just, in reversed order).

And Brees was dialed in, watching the game from afar, having been cautioned against traveling so soon after surgery to join his teammates on the sideline. He congratulated the Saints on their big upset from his official Twitter account, emphasizing the importance of such a team win:

We can only speculate on what Brees was feeling while watching his protegee and their teammates go to work in such a hostile environment, at one point leading by a margin of 33-21. But it’s a safe bet that he’ll be back among them as soon as doctors tell him he’s safe to fly home.
