Drew Brees leads ‘sun’s out, guns out’ pregame chant vs. Chargers

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is fond of his pregame chants, delivering them before every game while surrounded by teammates. The tradition goes back for more than a decade, when Brees visited and trained with members of the military on USO Tours.

When the season starts, Brees usually maintains a consistent chant from one week to the next. But it’s the preseason, and he’s looking to the Saints’ sunny locale for inspiration. They’re playing on a beautiful Sunday afternoon against the Los Angeles Chargers, and he’s aware of what that means. The sun’s out, so it’s time for the Saints to flex for the cameras:

It’s unlikely Brees plays much in this preseason game; he normally doesn’t make his preseason debut until the third week, and he spent more time signing autographs for fans today than warming up. Look for backup quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill to take the reins in his place against L.A.
