Drew Brees’ kids keep taking souvenirs from his teammates

Parenthood has introduced some unique challenges for New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees. In a video shared by Jeff Nowak of the Advocate, Brees discussed how he’s had to deal with the combination of four ‘sports junky’ children and a star-studded locker room.

“Listen, they come in the locker room and they just want to steal Mike Thomas’s gloves, they go to (Alvin) Kamara’s locker and take his shoes, Marshon (Lattimore)’s locker and take something of his. (My teammates) come to me the next day and they’re like ‘where is my stuff’ and I’m like, ‘man it’s my kids, I’m sorry. I’ll get it back,'” Brees laughed. “It’s in a pillowcase at home. My kids are sports junkies and they love the Saints, and they love football.”

Brees also touched on where he stand mentally, entering his nineteenth NFL season. He turned 40 back in January and isn’t under contract after 2019. The future Hall of Fame inductee was contemplative:

“But you know, just enjoy the moment. Take a little more time to smell the roses. Because when it’s over it’s over, and then it’s on to the next chapter, it’s on to my family. Right now, (I’m) focused on winning a championship.”
