Drew Brees doesn’t see Tom Brady leaving Patriots in free agency

The timeline to March 18 is closing in and Tom Brady’s future NFL team isn’t getting any clearer.

His 20-year career with the New England Patriots could very possibly be coming to an end, bringing many questions to the organization. The speculation arose in the middle of last season and that’s the only information anyone has received — speculation.

To add onto it, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees threw in his two cents while joining WEEI’s ‘The Greg Hill Show’ on Thursday.

“I love Tom Brady,” Brees said. “I feel the way everybody else feels about Tom Brady. He’s a legend and I don’t see him going anywhere. But, then again I can’t speak for him or anybody else.”

Brees is a future Hall of Famer whose spent 14 seasons with the Saints, and he announced recently he’ll play another season in New Orleans. Brees’ only goal right now is to win, believing Brady shares this same mentality at this point in his career.

“Well, I can’t speak for Tom, but I know for me being at this stage of my career, I just want to win. I just want to win,” he said. “I think Tom has been a guy who has kind of been a model for all of us for a lot of years. I don’t think any of this is about money for Tom. I think it is about wining another championship. I also think it is probably about feeling he’s in a situation where he has all the pieces in place to do that.

“Again, I can’t speak for him, but I know at this stage of the game and knowing his mentality to a degree, it is about winning a championship.”

The Patriots have many marquee players hitting free agency and a lack of talent on the offensive side of the ball. The offseason moves they make over the next couple of weeks will likely play a huge factor in Brady’s decision.

For now, it’s just a waiting game to see who’s at the helm for New England  in 2020 season.
