Drew Brees, Demario Davis team up for Saints pregame speech

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been known for his intense pregame speeches, but he was spelled by linebacker Demario Davis during the last two weeks while managing his injured throwing hand. Davis proved an immediate hit thanks to his passionate, fiery style, and the two team leaders reached a logical compromise before kickoff against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: teamwork.

Davis started the speech as usual, but Brees helped finish it in a tag-team effort. Davis mentioned earlier in the week that it was something the pair wanted to try out now that Brees has joined the team after being cleared by doctors following thumb surgery, and they were able to do just that on Sunday.

And they didn’t end their speech with just any old call-and-response. Brees and Davis broke out the iconic pregame chant from the Saints’ 2009 Super Bowl year. How’s that for setting the tone?
