Drew Brees believes Mac Jones and Patriots are a perfect fit

Coming off a win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Mac Jones and the New England Patriots extended their winning streak to six games. The team is beginning to find their groove, and NFL analyst Drew Brees believes Jones and the Patriots are a perfect match.

Jones went 23 of 32 on the afternoon throwing for 310 yards and two touchdowns. He was efficient, recording a 71.9 completion percentage and a 123.2 quarterback rating. This marked his second 300-yard passing game of the season, as the Patriots were able to put together a strong offensive attack.

As transcribed by Adam London of NESN.com, Jones’ ability to follow New England’s game plan has led to success in Brees’ eyes.

“You feel like he’s the perfect quarterback for this Bill Belichick team and that offense,” Brees said Sunday on NBC’s “Football Night in America.” “As good as they’re running the football, as great as they’re playing defense and generating turnovers, giving them opportunities, it’s really just asking Mac Jones to manage the game. Be very efficient and then make some plays in the pass game, convert some third downs. But he has been highly, highly efficient, finding lots of completions, not a lot of incompletions. Just doing what they’re asking him to do.”

Jones will face a very difficult task next Monday night, as New England takes on the Buffalo Bills. With divisional positioning at stake, continued efficiency will be important for Jones and the Patriots.
