Drew Brees and his son give shoutout to Steph Curry in Instgram video

Callen Brees may be the son of a football legend, but he’s out to impress on the basketball court, too.

Drew Brees posted a video to Instagram of his 7-year-old son trying to replicate the shot of Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry.

“Hey Steph: If I make this shot, will you give me one of your jerseys?” Callen asks the camera as he steps up to the 3-point line and fires.

He shot in a high arc to get the ball over a trampoline in his line of vision, and the shot swished. That’s not all — Callen even replicated Curry’s shimmy in celebration.

Does that deserve a jersey?

In the caption, Brees wrote:

“My 7 yr old son Callen is a huge fan! He wanted to impersonate one of your game winning shots and asked if I would get him one of your jerseys if he made it… I told him to ask you himself 🙂 so here goes! He even gave it the patented shoulder shimmy at the end!”

Brees has posted his kids playing basketball on Instagram pretty frequently over the the last few weeks, including one span of posts in which he asks fans to rank his kids’ dunk contest attempts.

They’re certainly getting creative with these:

Corn dog dunks aren’t exactly up Curry’s lane, though.

Maybe next time they’ll try to imitate Gerald Green’s cupcake dunk and ask for his jersey, instead.
