Drew Barrymore cries as she reveals Harper Beckham made friends with her lonely daughter

Drew Barrymore was almost crying as she revealed how her lonely daughter made friends with Harper Beckham.

Victoria Beckham appeared on the actress' talk show on Friday where the pair bonded over their daughters' friendship.

Drew told viewers a story about how when she was working in London she took her daughter to a park.

She said: "We didn't known anybody there and she made a friend and I was so excited that she made a friend. I was like 'Oh thank God, you know, you made a friend here, this is wonderful news'."

Drew then turned to Victoria and said: "It turned out to be your daughter Harper."

With a smile on her face, Victoria told Drew, Harper enjoys playing with Olive, 10, and Frankie, eight, and has enjoyed getting to known them.

Drew went on to say that she has 'never in my life met children who are as well behaved, kind, generous, humorous, full of humanity, the most incredible kids."

She then asked Victoria what good parenting advice she could offer.

The interview comes as Drew reunited with her E.T. co-stars in an emotional get-together to mark the 40th anniversary of the classic 80s movie.

Drew found fame in the film as she starred alongside Henry Thomas, 51, Robert McNaughton, 55, and Dee Wallace, 73.

Shewas only six-years-old when she starred in the Steven Spielberg film where she played Gertie, with Henry playing her on-screen brother Elliott.

In an episode of her talk programme The Drew Barrymore Show, she said how when she was a child on set she thought the Extra-Terrestrial 'was real'.

"I really loved him in such a profound way. Is it like true that, what would happen, because I would go and take lunch to him," she told Robert, who player her older brother, and Dee, who played the on-screen siblings' mother.

Henry said: "The first thing I remember is that we were on stage and it was quite cold on the stage and you asked the wardrobe lady if you could have a scarf for E.T.’s neck because he was gonna get cold."

Dee explained that highly acclaimed director Stephen noticed Drew's love for his alien character, so made sure she was able to communicate with it throughout the filming process.

She revealed that Steven hired people to 'keep E.T. alive'.

Dee said: "We found you over there just talking away to E.T. and so we let Steven know and so Steven from that time on appointed two guys to keep E.T. alive so whenever you came over to talk to him he could react to you."
