If you haven’t seen the video for Hotline Bling, it consists mostly of the rapper Drake doing herky-jerky dance moves that are easy enough for our models to approximate below. He does them in a puffer coat, then a hoodie—and then a $400 turtleneck from Acne Studios. In those four minutes and 55 seconds, Drake brought back the much maligned piece from whatever frozen tundra the fashion gods had marooned it on. (Of course, it took a Canadian.) Thanks to that October 2015 video, now it’s everywhere—either as a chunky, standalone sweater or as an outer layer. H&M’s turtleneck lineup starts at $5, or $395 less than the one that started all of this under a year ago.
