Whether you’re Gold Coast local or you enjoy venturing over there on holiday, one of the city’s highlights is its theme parks. I don’t care what anyone says, they’re NOT exclusively for kids. You can have just as much fun at them as an adult, if not moreso. Hey, Heartbreak High season three made that pretty clear (just don’t go and put a man in a coma, okay?).
Dreamworld is one of the big four theme parks and is universally recognised as a must-visit when you visit the Gold Coast. And if you think you’re a seasoned veteran who’s seen and done it all, you’ll be pleased to hear the theme park has a brand new ride for you to try: the King Claw.
King Claw is set to be one of the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest and most thrilling new attractions. It’s a replacement for Dreamworld’s OG swing ride, The Claw, and is a giant gyro swing that’s 42 metres high and hurls riders around at speeds up up to 98 km/h. If you’re a thrill seeker, you’re gonna love this.

The new and improved version of the beloved ride is designed to throw adrenaline junkies into higher arcs, faster speeds and bigger moments of airtime before you come swinging back down towards the ground.
As for what it actually feels like? Picture this: you’re slowly hauled up into the air, legs dangling, with just enough time to realise you’ve made a terrible mistake before the ride takes off. Then suddenly, you’re flying, swinging higher and higher until you’re horizontal, with nothing but sky in front of you and the Gold Coast skyline flashing past in a blur in your peripheral vision. There’s the weightless, stomach dropping adrenaline-rush that makes you feel as though your heart is in your mouth. Then in the blink of an eye, it’s over, and you’re lining up to go again.
Think you’re game? Dreamworld is currently offering a buy three, get one free deal on all passes. Whether you’re going for the day or are a regular visitor and want to snag an annual pass, both are included in the deal.
It’s a great option to split between mates if you’ve got four thrill seekers among your group, or you’ve got kids, nieces or nephews you wanna take along with you.
Want to give King Claw a ride? You can snap up Dreamworld’s offer on the Experience Oz website.
