Errol and Benfro are 13 year olds both brought up in different places. Errol lives in a village with his mother, he's the young boy who no one plays with or is friends with. One day, whilst sitting in the forest reading, a girl named Martha joins Errol and shows him the Grym. The Grym are lines between every object that connect energy and can be manipulated to perform magic but not everyone can see the Grym and most humans that do, end up at the Order of high Ffrydd; the order of warrior priests. Errol and his half-brother Clun join the priests but soon Errol realises that he has put himself in danger and he is more significant in the world of men and dragons than he knows…
Benfro is a dragon. He is brought up by his mother Morgwym on the edge of the dragon village; Morgwym is the 'keeper' of the village and she stops unwanted people (humans) getting in. Benfro is enchanted, honoured and orphaned which changes his life unpredictably but he will still stand up for what he believes in.
I really enjoyed this book because there were plot twists that kept me hooked. Also, the characters aren't too complicated so you can understand them. I can't wait to read the next books in this series!
I would recommend this book to people who have read the inheritance cycle and other dragon novels because it keeps you hooked and has another interesting take on dragons.
