Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to pull off a double swoop for Real Madrid pair Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon.
football.london understands Spurs are locked in negotiations with the Spanish giants over a move for the duo.
Bale’s Madrid relationship has deteriorated so much that a loan deal could happen in which the La Liga champions subsidise a large chunk of his wages.
Spurs were not actively looking to sign a left-back during this window, but the opportunity to sign 23-year-old Reguilon would be one too good to pass up.
The club have been closely following the situation with long-time target Reguilon, who has a lot of admirers in north London.
With the transfer news breaking last night, it sent Spurs fans into overdrive on Twitter.
