Leading smart home and floorcare brand Dreame has just announced a brand-new robot vacuum cleaner that promises to solve the 'dirty mop problem.'
This is thanks to a new feature in robotic vacuums: a mop that continuously cleans itself. It's a welcome new addition to a rapidly growing market that, with each new release, is taking more and more chore time off our hands.
As Homes & Gardens' resident vacuum tester, I'm a big fan of Dreame's floorcare gadgets, and I'm intrigued by this new release as it may end up being our next best robot vacuum. Here's everything we know so far.
The full low-down on the new Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller
The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller promises to solve a recurring frustration with robot vacuum cleaners: the dirty mop spreading bacteria across the floors.
As even the best robot vacuums for pet hair can't clean their mop pads on-the-go, they must return to the station every time they need refreshing. But in between these self-cleans the robot continues to mop your floors, dragging germs in the process.
'We realized it’s not only about how strong the mop is – it’s about how clean the mop stays,' says Sean Chen, a managing director at Dreame.
'Most robotic vacuums – even advanced ones – rely on wiping with a single cloth. When cleaning heavy stains, the cloth keeps going even after getting dirty, sometimes creating more mess,' he continues.
This is certainly something we've noticed from our robot vacuum tests, especially those that don't include a cleaning solution. But surprisingly, the new Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller doesn't use a cleaning solution either, just fresh water.
Mopping aside, the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller boasts 30,000Pa suction power. To put that into perspective, the eufy Omni S1 Pro is the single best robot vacuum we've tested, cleaning almost as well as a full-sized canister vacuum – and its suction power is just 8,000Pa.
Suction doesn't always translate to more effective cleaning, but in this case, it's an exciting prospect. It also has an 'AutoSeal Roller Guard' to prevent moisture dripping from the mop when moving from hard floors to carpets.
The mop washes itself with clean water as it spins at 100RPM, while a scraper removes dirty water into a separate tank. This means the roller is always touching the floor with fresh water – one of the major benefits of choosing floorcare gadgets when comparing regular mopping vs wet vacuuming.
This mopping function is a similar design to the Dyson WashG1. Dyson's first wet floor cleaner doesn't use cleaning solution either, but disperses fresh water across the roller and scrapes away dirty water just like the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller. And while it didn't clean as well as the best vacuum-mop combos that do use a cleaning solution, it was still surprisingly adept at mopping and stain removal.
Perhaps more importantly however, the lack of cleaning solution means there are minimal recurring costs. But its stand-out specs don't stop there.
Just like the Dreame X50 that can climb over obstacles, the Aqua10 Ultra Roller can lift itself above thresholds of 3.15 inches. So – door mats, bumpy floors and cables shouldn't stop this robot from getting around.
All in all – the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller boasts some impressive and potentially market-leading features, and we can't wait to get our hands on it to see for ourselves.
The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra will be available towards the end of 2025 at Dreame US and Dreame UK. Pricing information hasn't been released yet.
