Dream homes built on farmyard in Notts village will create 'community full of character'

A farmyard close to the A52 in Nottinghamshire has been sold so new homes can be built - creating a 'community that's full of character'.

The sale of the plot in the village of Thoroton, in the borough of Rushcliffe, will allow for eight new properties.

The land, accessed off Main Street, has full planning permission and has been sold to company Wheatcroft Land.

Its director and owner, Catherine Haward, said: "We’re really excited about bringing this development of eight luxury new builds to life over the next year.

"As a former farmyard, the homes will be in the style of farm buildings and barns, creating a community that’s full of character.

“We pride ourselves on developing individual homes that are unique to each location, making them distinctive and offering something different to other new builds on the market.

"The properties at Thoroton will feature luxury bathrooms and dressing rooms, en-suites and open plan family rooms that have bi-fold doors leading to private gardens - all ideal for growing families looking to settle in their dream home."

The land was sold through firm Mather Jamie.

Gary Kirk, associate director of the land specialist company, said: “Thoroton Farm represents an excellent opportunity to build desirable new homes on a site which opens out onto open countryside.

"It is likely to be popular with professionals looking to commute to Nottingham, Leicester or Grantham.

“Its position close to the A46 and A52 means that it is an ideal location for people wishing to live in the countryside whilst being able to commute quickly to some of the largest cities and towns in the East Midlands and beyond.

"It will be exciting to see what Wheatcroft Land Limited make of the opportunity.”
