Nottingham Forest player makes big Champions League call

Defender Yohan Benalouane has made a massive Nottingham Forest claim on social media.

Three years ago, the defender played a part as Leicester City did their all to stay the threat of Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final.

Atletico managed to progress to the semi-finals, despite Leicester's big effort in one of their most memorable match-ups of all time which is now a catalyst for his bold words.

The Reds centre-back posted on Twitter that he is now dreaming of bringing Forest back to the same stage he reached with the Foxes, having reflected on Leicester's big day at the King Power stadium.

Benalouane has made 14 appearances in the Championship - all of them starts - and has scored one goal since joining Sabri Lamouchi's men from Leicester.

His hopes will also be put on hold - Forest's promotion campaign has endured a setback along with the rest of English football due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis - with football breaking up in March to help curb the public spread of the virus.
