Here is the shocking moment when a man minding his own business is decked by a thug who then grabs his phone and legs it in a vile and unprovoked one punch attack.
A video obtained by Dublin Live shows the victim standing alone on a city street when he is approached by the hooded thug.
The attacker squares up to the man and belts him in the face which leads to the victim being knocked out and falling straight to the ground.
He barely reaches the floor before the thug turns thief, stealing the phone that had dropped out of the man's hand and which now lay alongside him on the ground near his feet.
The thug then makes a run for it, as the victim lies still on the cold and hard ground.
It is understood that the attacker is from north Dublin and well-known to some of the victim's friends.
It is believed that some of the friends are on the lookout for the man following the brutal attack.
Dublin Live also understands that Gardai have launched an investigation into this attack and are looking for any witnesses to come forward.
