Dre Kirkpatrick on crutches with a brace ahead of MRI

The Cincinnati Bengals lost cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick to a knee injury in the Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Kirkpatrick needed a cart to leave the field and after was spotted on crutches and wearing a brace, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby.

According to the team’s official site, Kirkpatrick will have an MRI soon.

“That’s devastating,” William Jackson said, according to Bengals.com. “He’s one of the leaders in the locker room. He’s a good guy. It’s football, it’s what we signed up for. I’ll be glad when we get him back.”

The Bengals can’t really afford to have more injuries in the secondary. B.W. Webb is already playing with a fractured arm and William Jackson left Sunday’s game to get his shoulder popped back in before returning.

A veteran leader, Kirkpatrick has been a steady presence this year. The only slight relief coming out of this unfortunate situation is the impending return of Darqueze Dennard from the PUP list.
