Former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick didn’t take long to send a message to fans and teammates on social media Tuesday after his release.
Kirkpatrick hit up Instagram after word of his release broke and thanked both the fans and teammates for the ride. He noted that he’ll miss the fans and city he calls home but that it’s time to move on.
Rest assured all parties feel the same in the wake of the move. The Bengals needed to free up some cap space after an aggressive performance in free agency.
As for Kirkpatrick, he’s still a solid boundary corner and likely won’t take long to find payment as such on the open market. A landing spot like Minnesota with Mike Zimmer might make some sense.
We’ll probably hear more from Kirkpatrick sooner than later. For now, his immediate reaction has value:
