Draymond Green has taken Golden State Warriors rookie big man James Wiseman under his wing, and it feels like in every Dubs game this season, we’ve seen a moment in which he takes Wiseman aside to teach him something.
On Thursday night, however, Green’s lessons led to a mistaken ejection.
The veteran forward was apparently yelling something at Wiseman that an official thought was directed at himself. Green got a technical, and it was Green’s second T of the game, so he was gone after just 17 minutes in an eventual loss to the New York Knicks.

Head coach Steve Kerr later revealed to reporters that referee Ben Taylor told him that a fellow official didn’t realize Green was yelling at Wiseman:

Should a call like that be reversed if Green and Kerr explained it that way Green had this to say via ESPN:
“I’m just a bit confused,” Green told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. “Officials can meet and make a decision on any call throughout the game, but when it comes to a technical that was clearly the wrong call, due to an official assuming I was talking to him when in fact I wasn’t, that can’t be overturned? Maybe it’s time to take a look at that rule. I would love clarity on why that’s the rule, if in fact it is a rule.”
