Draymond Green’s laughable poker face costs him $5K at “Poker After Dark” cash game

Draymond Green is often called the heart and soul of the Golden State Warriors because of his fiery emotions on the court. But a sideline altercation with Kevin Durant in the 2018-19 season forced Green to examine how his emotions can both spark momentum in a game and cause discord in his relationships, fuel defensive stops and set a bad example for his young children.

A leaner, meaner Green debuted on the hardwood in the playoffs, but a wiser version of himself stepped into a leadership role in a locker room obliterated by injuries. Whether on the court or off it, Green’s passion in the postseason was positive to the Warriors. But that kind of authentic fervency is hard to squelch at-will, even with $5,000 on the line.

That’s the flowery way of saying that Green, incapable of hiding his emotions, has no poker face.

In a cash game against several professional poker players at PokerGo’s “Poker After Dark,” Maria Ho called Green’s bluff and took all his ducats.

The player seated next to Green in full-blown Lakers garb should be considered the insult to Green’s very, very, very slight financial injury.
