Draymond Green’s Controversial Play at Rim Nearly Ruins Steph Curry Game-Winner

The Warriors narrowly beat the Thunder in controversial fashion on Friday night at the Paycom Center in each team’s inaugural in-season tournament game.

After inbounding the ball with the game tied 139–139 in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, Golden State got the ball in the hands of Stephen Curry. After taking the clock down, Curry drove past Luguentz Dort and got the ball onto the rim.

However, the referees initially called basket interference on Draymond Green, who appeared to touch the rim while the ball was in the cylinder.

Upon video review, it was determined that Green had touched the rim, but that Thunder guard Josh Giddey had made contact with the net first. As a result, the basket counted for Curry and the Warriors emerged from the hotly-contested game with a 141–139 victory.

Curry’s brilliance was on display once again as the Warriors improved to 4–0 on the road. The veteran guard filled up the stat sheet with 28 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals on 8-for-14 shooting from the field and 5-for-10 from beyond the arc.
