Draymond Green reacts to Michigan State’s college football upset win over rival Michigan

On Saturday, the college football slate featured the Michigan State Spartans’ tilt against the Michigan Wolverines. With his alma mater in action against their bitter rival, Draymond Green was tuned into college football.

Before Sparty kicked off against the Wolverines, Green joined Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff to preview the Big 10’s storied rivalry. The Golden State Warriors forward spoke about his time at Michigan and traded shots with Michigan legend Charles Woodson.

After coming off a win over the No. 21 ranked Minnesota Gophers to start the season, Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines were 21.5 point favorites against their Michigan rivals.

Despite being heavy underdogs, Michigan State jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. The Spartans were able to hold onto the lead heading into halftime, 14-10.

After the two teams traded scores in the third quarter, the Spartans took a 27-17 lead on a Connor Heyward 13-yard touchdown reception from Rocky Lombardi with 5:11 remaining in the final quarter. The 10-point fourth-quarter lead was enough to seal the Spartans’ upset victory.

Following Michigan State’s 27-24 win in Ann Arbor, Green took to social media to celebrate his alma mater.

After Michigan State wideout Ricky White recorded eight catches for 196 yards and a touchdown, Green had praise for the freshman pass catcher.

Following their rivalry week victory against the Wolverines, Mel Tucker will lead his squad to Kinnick Stadium for a matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes.
