Draymond Green on postseason without LeBron: ‘It’s super weird’

Draymond Green and his Golden State Warriors have already punched their ticket to their fifth straight NBA Finals, but for the first time in their dynasty’s history, they won’t face LeBron James when they get there.

This was part of the inspiration for a story from Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck about the hole left from LeBron missing the postseason for the first time in 13 years and missing the NBA Finals for the first time in eight years. In that article, Green admitted that it’s “super weird” LeBron isn’t playing at the highest level.

“It’s just weird,” the Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green said. “More as a basketball fan than anything: ‘Damn, Bron not there.’ It’s super weird. You always relish the opportunity to play against a talent like that.”

James and his Cavaliers teams went 3-1 against the Warriors in four Finals matchups, with the later two coming after Kevin Durant joined the Warriors in free agency following Cleveland’s 2016 title win.

Although LeBron’s Lakers didn’t make the postseason, they continue to make headlines as LeBron’s recruitment efforts appear to be raising in intensity.
