Draymond Green on Damian Lillard: ‘If you get 50, I don’t know if any shot a bad shot’

The biggest game of this year’s postseason came on Tuesday night in Portland. All series long, Damian Lillard and Russell Westbrook were taking jabs at each other on and off the floor. It’s a rivalry that’s been taking place for years, and made for great drama on the court.

With Portland up 3-1 on the Thunder, Lillard decided to have the best playoff performance of his career, dropping 50 points, including a game-winner as time expired from the pinwheel logo over Paul George.

After the game, George said that he thought that the game-winner was a bad shot despite it going in, sparking a social media storm about Dame’s clutch jumper. Warriors forward Draymond Green was asked about the shot during Wednesday’s shootaround and pretty much said it can’t be a bad shot if you went for 50.

“There are some bad shots, even if they go in, but I don’t know if you can really say that then. I don’t know if you get 50 if any shot is a bad shot — heat checks and everything is allowed at that point. But uh, incredible performance.”

Green has seen performances like this many times over playing his whole career alongside Steph Curry, who also has a deep game-winner against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Green said that the two were nothing alike, but still appreciated Lillard’s shot and said he gained even more respect for the Blazers point guard.
