Draymond Green has juicy take on Kyrie Irving’s standing within NBA

Draymond Green is in his 12th NBA season. The Golden State Warriors veteran has faced some of the league’s most talented players. He’s also been teammates with future legends, so he is uniquely positioned to discuss which players are among the most skilled in the league.

During a recent episode of his “The Draymond Green Show” podcast, the championship-winning forward praised Kyrie Irving‘s game-winning shot against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Green continued, stating he believes Irving is the most skilled player in NBA history, thus putting him ahead of Steph Curry.

“There’s actually nothing you can do to stop Kyrie from scoring — you just try to do all you can to make him take a tough shot and live with the results,” Green said. “I saw Damian Lillard tweet, ‘Kyrie Irving is the most skilled player in NBA history,’ and, quite frankly, I’m not sure who can argue against that. … The things that Kyrie is capable of are unreal.”

The mercurial guard has been among the best players in the NBA for over a decade. However, his tenure with the Mavericks has seen him step out of the spotlight to a certain degree. Still his game-winning shot over the reigning NBA champions was a reminder of what he’s capable of.

The Warriors can’t focus on what other teams are doing, though. Their season hasn’t gone to plan. Steve Kerr will be keen to see them stack a few wings together to create some breathing room inside the play-in spots. Otherwise, the Warriors could be in danger of missing the postseason entirely.
