Draymond Green fills the stat sheet again as Warriors sweep Blazers

You may have been asleep while it happened and I wouldn’t blame you for that, but Draymond Green notched another triple-double helping lead the Golden State Warriors to a sweep over the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals.

Along with knocking down a dagger three-pointer, Green had 18 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists to go with three steals and two blocks in the Warriors’ 119-117 win in game four. It was his second consecutive triple-double. This one was historic in a number of ways. First Green and Steph Curry, who went for 37 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists, are the first teammates to record triple-doubles in the same playoff game.

Green also notches his eighth playoff-triple double, extending his Golden State franchise record.

And third, this one will be particularly enjoyable to MSU fans, Green became the first player to get back-to-back playoff triple doubles while taking less than 13 shots since, and I feel like you know who is coming next . . . Magic Johnson.

Oh and one more little tidbit from Kyle Soppe . . .

The stats are great and it’s fun to dig up little nuggets like that, but however you shake it, Green has been an absolute monster this postseason and Playoff Draymond is a real and terrifying thing for people outside of the Bay Area.

Green and the Warriors advance to their fifth consecutive NBA Finals where they will look to win their fourth title in that stretch. They await the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors.
