Draymond Green defeats Quinn Cook in battle of alma maters

Almost every year during the NCAA Tournament, two players’ alma maters face off. While stakes are usually high between any two friends whose colleges play each other, these games have an extra significance for NBA players due to the amount of time and energy they put into the program themselves.

So when Draymond Green’s Michigan State Spartans defeated Quinn Cook’s Duke Blue Devils 68-67 on Sunday, Green was obviously over the moon. Green went straight to social media to gloat over Cook, via NBC Sports Bay Area.

In addition to pride, Green seems to have won something from Cook. While it was a tough day for Cook and his Blue Devils, he was still repping his school hard during Green’s postgame interview.

As Green said, it was a great day to be a Spartan.
