Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors start Conference Finals tonight

The Golden State Warriors were able to vanquish the Houston Rockets without Kevin Durant and are moving forward to the Western Conference Finals for the FIFTH STRAIGHT SEASON. For Pistons fans, it will take one more season for the Warriors to match the Pistons streak of six straight conference finals.

Draymond was as good as always. After struggling through the regular season (partially injury induced), he has been dominant in the playoffs. He is currently third on the Warriors in plus-minus at +7.0, just behind Kevin Durant and Steph Curry. This tracks for me, as I consider Draymond to be the third best player on the Warriors right now.

Draymond did get some jokes directed at him in game 5. After hitting a big three, he lost his mind celebrating, which some fans chided him for since it was his 8th point in the game. However, I thought his celebration was valid as in my mind he was the best player that night:

I think a lot of people don’t understand just how good Draymond is. He is the quarterback of the Warriors defense and one of the smartest players in the league.

The Warriors take on the Portland Trail Blazers tonight at 9pm ET on ESPN. You can watch Draymond take on old Big Ten rival Evan Turner, who actually had a big game against the Nuggets in game 7 in the semi-finals.
