DeMarcus Cousins, who started 30 games at center for the Golden State Warriors in the 2018-19 NBA season, married longtime girlfriend Morgan Lang over the weekend in Atlanta.
According to People magazine, the wedding took place at The St. Regis Atlanta, and several of Cousins’ teammates, both past and present, were in attendance. From the Warriors, those teammates include Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston, according to People.
Cousins signed a $3.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers on July 6. The new teammates who showed up to witness the 29-year-old Alabama native exchange vows were current Lakers Anthony Davis and Quinn Cook, who played two seasons with the Warriors and won a championship ring with the team in 2017-18.
Matt Barnes, now retired but who also played for the Lakers and Warriors, was there as well.
According to People, Cousins proposed to Lang on July 4, 2018.
But this offseason has not been kind to Cousins. On Aug. 12, he tore his left ACL during an offseason workout in Las Vegas. A surgery date has not been announced, but the big man has been ruled out of his first season with Lakers.
Earlier today, news broke that Cousins’ ex-girlfriend, Christy West, filed a restraining order against him. She alleges Cousins made death threats against her. TMZ Sports released an audio recording in which the speaker, alleged to be Cousins, makes a specific threat of deadly violence.
The Lakers announced in a statement earlier today that they are aware of the allegations and investigating.
