Entitled "Here Is Life", this is the first solo exhibition by artist Chanida Areewatanasombat, aka Chubby Nida, who combines illustration and painting techniques to create emotional, colourful and high-contrast work in a comic-book style.

The exhibition tells the story of both good and bad days through more than 20 paintings heavily influenced by the artist's surroundings and responses to emotional experiences of daily life.

By transforming her feelings into art, she tries to convey in her work the confusion and emotions she has felt in her life.

A graduate in visual-communications design from Silpakorn University, Chanida earned a master's in illustration design at Kingston University in the UK. She is currently a freelance illustrator and animator, making short animated films and installations infused with the bustle and rhythm of her life.

The Gallery 36 is on the 36th floor of Pullman Bangkok Hotel G, Silom Road, and is open daily, 10am-5pm.
