Dramatic video shows Premier Inn fire still burning after more than nine hours

Avon Fire and Rescue Service has released dramatic video footage of crews 'working tirelessly' to bring a huge fire under control.

A fire at the Premier Inn in Cribbs Causeway has been burning for more than eight hours.

More than 60 firefighters from across Bristol and beyond have been at the scene since around 1.30pm on Wednesday, July 17.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service tweeted the video shortly before 10pm and added that the incident is expected to continue for several hours.

The footage shows large flames continuing to rage as smoke billows from the wrecked building.

More than 60 firefighters are tackling a fire at the hotel at the hotel on Catbrain Lane, off the M5.

The fire started on the third floor at around 1.30pm today (July 17) and spread to the roof, causing large amounts of black smoke to billow, visible from miles away.

A major incident was declared by police shortly after 5pm.

Roads have been closed nearby and some residents have reportedly not been allowed back to their homes.

Witnesses at the scene have described parts of the roof collapsing.

Firefighters are taking a "defensive" approach to the fire, which means it is too dangerous for them to go inside.
