Dramatic video shows armed gardai swarm Finglas estate to arrest man at property

There were dramatic scenes in north Dublin in the early hours of the morning after armed gardai swarmed an estate to arrest a man at a property.

Officers surrounded Abbotstown Drive just after midnight on Monday with the scene still sealed off several hours later as locals headed off to work.

One young man in his 20s was arrested over a suspected aggravated burglary in the area with locals capturing the moment on camera.

Gardai can be heard shouting "armed gardai, get on the ground" in the less than one minute video before one resident can be heard saying "oh they have him".

The narrators of the video also claim that the man "had suffered a fall" while officers continue to tell the man to get on the ground as they storm the area.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí have arrested and charged a man in his 20s in relation to an alleged aggravated burglary that occurred at a property in Abbotstown Drive, Finglas, in the early hours of Monday 16 August."
