Dramatic scenes unfolded during the second half of the game between Leeds United and Aston Villa.
With the Championship game tied at 0-0 heading into the last quarter of the match at Elland Road, Mateusz Klich gave the home side lead.
The controversy began with Aston Villa's Jonathan Kodjia on the deck in the Leeds' half.
But urged on by Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, Klich advanced forward, cut inside Villa's Ahmed Elmohamady, and curled the ball past Jed Steer to give the Whites a controversial lead.
The scenes that followed were ugly to say the least. Both sets of players were at each other, squaring up on the pitch and in the respective coaching areas.
Villa's Anwar El Ghazi saw red in the melee - but that wasn't to be the end of matters.
In bizarre circumstances, Leeds then allowed Villa to score straight from kick-off.
Uncontested, Albert Adomah runs through on goal with Elmohamady, and though Pontus Jansson tries his best to tackle the winger, he finds the empty net.
It appeared that it was on the instruction from the Leeds bench that Villa were allowed to score.
The game finished 1-1.
