Some officers were carrying riot shields.

The eyewitness said:

"Appears to be someone held up in a house, not sure why or with who. However must be at least 25 cops some with riot equipment. Looks like a serious incident."

Riot vans were also seen on the street, which has been taped off by police.

The police and ambulances left the scene at 3.15pm.
