Video footage sent to the M.E.N shows a group of men standing in the middle of the road as they can be heard to shout inaudible words at each other.

A number of cars involved in the fracas appear to be parked up nearby - blocking the entrance to the street.

One vehicle can then be seen driving at speed before it appears to collide with a man standing in the middle of the road.

Female shouting and screaming can be heard before two more men could be seen as they appeared to fight each other with weapons.

A short time later a number of vehicles leave the scene.

One resident, who wished to remain anonymous said: "There was lots of shouting then I heard another car screech.

"They got out with balaclavas on and people were screaming. I didn't leave the house. I was too scared."

It is not clear if anyone was injured during the altercation, but police have confirmed an investigation has been launched.

No arrests have yet been made.
