A motorist stopped in his tracks following a police chase on country roads was found to be seven times over the drink-drive limit.
Detectives received reports of a car driving erratically near St Clears in Carmarthenshire before a patrol car was sent to investigate.
The car was eventually spotted on the A477 in Pembrokeshire and a pursuit ensued after it failed to stop.
The chase only ended when officers used a stinger - also known as traffic spikes - on the A478 between Tenby and the village of Pentlepoir.

From the car emerged 50-year-old Richard Edmond Cary, who was then breathalysed.
And officers were left stunned with the roadside reading of 247 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Dyfed-Powys Police said a second breath test conducted at a police station "some time" after Cary was apprehended still showed he was more than four times over the legal limit.
Cary, of Hafan Deg, Brynhoffnant in Ceredigion , appeared at Llanelli Magistrates on Friday (June 14) and pleaded guilty to drink driving, failing to stop when asked by police, driving whilst disqualified, and using a vehicle on a road or public place without insurance.
He was jailed for three months and banned from driving for three years. He will also have to pay a court charge of £115.
