Dramatic pictures show house gutted by fire in Ardersier near Inverness

A house has been gutted by fire after a fierce blaze erupted in Ardersier near Inverness.

The Fire Service was alerted at around 12.10pm on Saturday to the incident in High Street in the small village on the Moray Firth.

A number of appliances were sent from Inverness , Forres, Nairn and Dingwall to deal with the fire.

Nobody was injured in the blaze but pictures from the scene show the house was extensively damaged with most of its roof destroyed and the interior ravaged by flames.

The fire is not thought to be suspicious.
