Dramatic pictures show damage to kitchen after fire

Fire Crews from Hicks Gate Fire Station and Kingswood Fire Station were called to a kitchen fire in Keynsham yesterday evening (June 22).

Pictures show damage to the hob and oven area of the kitchen at the property in on St Ladoc Road .

The blaze broke out just before 5.30pm, and while the hob area suffered fire damage other areas of the kitchen remained intact.

Hicks Gate Fire Station posted on social media about the incident by writing: "Red Watch have just attended a fire in a kitchen in Keynsham along with @AFRSKingswood, pan was left unattended on the hob. Crews entered the property wearing Breathing Apparatus due to significant smoke build up."

A spokesperson from Avon Fire and Rescue confirmed that crews were called to an address on St Ladoc Road, Keynsham after a fire on the hob broke out.

The cause is thought to be accidental (Hicks Gate Fire Station)

They said: "Crews from Hicks Gate and Kingswood were mobilised to reports of a kitchen fire on St Ladoc Road, Keynsham at 17:28.

"On arrival, firefighters found fire affecting the kitchen hob.

"Crews used two breathing apparatus for safety, and one high pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire.

"The cause is thought to be accidental."
