It is believed emergency services rushed to the scene at about 1am today (Tuesday) following the smash on Hyde Road in Mottram.

Eyewitnesses described hearing a huge smashing sound as the Range Rover collided with the wall.

It is unclear at this stage whether anyone was injured in the early morning smash.

A GMP spokesman said: "Police were called at around 1.10am this morning (Tuesday 15 September) to reports of an overturned vehicle on Hyde Road in Mottram.

"It is believed the vehicle - a Land Rover - had collided with a lorry trailer.

"Both drivers remained at the scene.

"The driver of the Land Rover was uninjured but was taken to hospital as a precaution.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
