A large scrapyard fire sent plumes of black smoke up into the city's sky this afternoon, hindering vision on the M50.
Large back plumes of smoke could be seen spewing from the fire site in Ballymun.
Approximately 40 scrap cars were alight and five fire engines and a water tanker attended the scene, Dublin Fire Brigade said.
The DFB also urged those that live nearby to close their windows.
Social media was set alight with pictures of the dramatic smoke, with initial fears over the source of the fire, due to its proximity to Dublin Airport.
The DFB are still at the scene.
