This was the scene when a car caught fire on the hard shoulder of the busy A65 between Aberdulais and Neath on Monday.
Emergency services were alerted at 4.29pm to reports of flames and thick black smoke coming from the front of a vehicle on the side of the road.
Two Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews attended the scene and the fire was quickly extinguished. It was confirmed at 5.20pm that one fire crew remained at the scene while recovery was arranged for the vehicle.
No major delays were reported on the A465 in either direction as a result of the incident.
A fire service spokesman said: “We can confirm that a call was received at 4.29pm on Monday. A private motor vehicle was on fire on the hard shoulder of the A465.
“Two fire crews attended the scene and the owner of the vehicle is now arranging recovery."
