Dramatic pictures show the aftermath of a crash which saw a car smashing into a petrol pump.
Debris were left strewn across the floor of the Shell garage on Northway in Maghull, following the crash on Saturday, September 26.
Dozens of locals took to social media to express their shock after seeing photos of the crash, at around 6pm.
Many people said it was "lucky (the car) didn't blow up" as a result of the crash, while others questioned how it happened in the first place.
The nature of the incident and any injuries is currently unclear.
Photos show the damage left behind by the crash, including a dented petrol pump.
Staff were pictured sweeping up the smashed glass and signs left behind.
The ECHO has approached Merseyside Police for comment.
